North Florida Swimming is privileged to call the
UNF Aquatics Center/Andy Sears Pool home.
Unless otherwise notified, all practices are held at UNF.
Annually, NFS signs a contract for use of the facility with the UNF Recreation Department.
The contract includes rules that are for the benefit of NFS swimmers and parents.
Below is an outline of the rules Coach Dave and the Parent Advisory Committee believe are most important:
- Parents are eligible to purchase a UNF parking permit (prices subject to change). To receive a permit a “Group Participant Parking Form” along with payment should be submitted to the Aquatic Center front desk.
- Swimmers should keep their equipment organized along the overhead doors, making sure there is always a clear walk way along the pool deck.
- NFS swimmers are responsible for picking up themselves after each practice.
- Parents/Relatives/Friends of NFS swimmers must behave in a manner that complies with the UNF and USA Swimming Code of Conduct. Parents are responsible for monitoring the behavior of siblings not in the water at practice. Life Guards control the pool deck. Please obey any command they may give at once without comment.
- Parents/Relatives/Friends may watch practice from the bleachers or bring folding chairs.
- Locker rooms are for changing and showering. Do not congregate in the locker rooms. Toilet stalls are not to be used as changing areas. NFS swimmers are not permitted to use lockers or leave equipment in locker rooms during practice.
- The UNF Aquatic Center does not furnish pull buoys or kick boards for NFS swimmers. Please furnish your own equipment.
- Coaches, Parents and Swimmers must clear the pool deck immediately if the air horn is sounded. This indicates an emergency situation.
- For the health and safety of all, swimmers who are sick should not practice. Swimmers with open wounds are not permitted in the water.
